The 2008 Mid-South Stocker Conference is scheduled for February 12-13, 2008 at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. 

The theme for the conference is “Plan for Success.” The beef cattle industry is experiencing rapid changes that impacts the profitability of stocker producers. Topics to be discussed include managing stress and nutrition of stocker cattle, disease of stocker cattle, managing risk and marketing. In addition, tours to stocker operations and a producer panel will present information about their successful operations. (Printable flyer and brochure)

This is the third annual Mid-South Stocker Conference. It is sponsored by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and the University of Tennessee Extension in partnership with Bayer Animal Health. Numerous cattle related businesses are also sponsors.

More than 200 producers from 9 states participated in the 2007 Conference and up to 300 are anticipated to attend the 2008 event.
